Video conferencing guarantees a quick, simple and, above all, low-priced exchange between scientists, business partners and customers. Our up-to-date conferencing system opens up new dimensions for you when it comes to cooperation and customer proximity.
The available technology has already successfully been used for major conferences with facilities in Brazil, the USA, China, the GUS States, Scandinavia and, of course, Germany.
Our offer is aimed at:
- University institutions
- Münster University Clinic
- All universities in the region
- People starting up their own businesses
- Public institutions
- Large corporations and SMEs
Technical information:
Video-conferencing has already been implemented in the University in the past, mostly as point-to-point communication (Package 1).
With the integration of MCU (Multi-Control Unit) we now offer the possibility of multipoint conferencing with up to 6 participants worldwide (Package 2). The unit allows video-conferencing as well as audio/video switching.
The University’s Communications and Media Technology Department located at Orléansring 16 in Münster has a fully-equipped video conference room for up to 15 participants. Video conferences can be implemented both via the Internet and LAN as well as via ISDN and in mixed mode. The technology supports a variety of external media such as PCs, DVDs, video recordings etc. The portfolio of services is rounded off by on-screen beamer projections by conferencing partners and connection test services free of charge in advance. Should you wish to initiate a video conferencing session using a PC, you will require H323- or SIP-compatible client software.
For using a point-to-point-video conference or a multipoint conference WWU offers the following services:
- Organisational support from the Innovation Office
- An air-conitioned video conference room in Department 4.43, Orléansring 16, 1st floor
- Technical support from the Communications and Media Department and the Data Processing Service Centre.
