WWU.Transfer School
The WWU.Transfer school coordinates the activities that AFO offers concerning knowledge transfer, creativity, patents, entrepreneurship and soft skills. Its target groups are students and academics from all departments at WWU, as well as external participants. In 2008 AFO started the WWU.Transfer school with workshops embedded in the “General Studies” part of the bachelor programmes. One task is to include state-of-the-art media developments, such as V-casts, podcasts and Web 2.0 tools, which will be integrated into the courses offered, in addition elements of e-learning. The overall objective is the integration into academic teaching of contents from more “complex” subjects such as business start-ups, patents and trademark rights and scientific communication, and to create links in these fields across the boundaries of individual departments. It is intended to provide students as early as possible with the means to actively access complex innovation systems in industry and society, and at the same time enable them to experience new dimensions for the application of their academic education.
