PATENTReiferei®

In 2008 the German Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) approved the PATENTReiferei® project, involving a number of universities, as part of its promotion of transfer strategy. 2009 saw the start of the project run by the POWeR universities of Bielefeld, Dortmund, Münster and Paderborn and the universities of applied sciences in Bielefeld, Dortmund, Münster and Ostwestfalen-Lippe. For the first time, the eight universities have been working together on creating a common strategic approach consisting of three parts: the technical optimization of inventions, improved utilization and ploughing market expertise back into academic teaching, research and university management.
With WWU leading the consortium and AFO managing the project coordination, the PATENTReiferei® project could always count on a great deal of support from regional businesses, even during the process of getting the project up and running. So the PATENTReiferei® project sees itself as playing an integral part in stimulating the development of innovation in Westphalia.
