German-Brazilian Biotechnology Forum

1st Bioforum in Hannover in 2007

2nd Bioforum in São Paulo in 2008

Initiated by the Secretary of State az the Ministry of Science and Technology, Prof. Barreto de Castro and the President of the National Research Foundation CAPES, Prof. Guimarães, the 2nd German-Brazilian Biotechnology Forum took place on 1 and 2 October 2008 in São Paulo. It was jointly organised by AFO and the Centre of Biotecnology (CBIOT) at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). In addition to talks between representatives of Brazilian (BNDES and FINEP) and German (DAAD) funding institutions, the conference/workshop focused especially on the presentation of Brazilian and German enterprises and scientists. The Cilian company was a participating company from Münster.
Especially gratifying was the high level of participation on the part of students, just as in the 1st Bioforum.
